This is about our eco-friendly “No¹ Flame“ agent that can be used for fire-fighting impregnation of wood and wood products, various types of thermal insulation boards, etc. As far as we know, all of the existing products which are used for fire-fighting impregnation are absolutely environmentally unacceptable, more or less harmful to humans and the environment.
This is according to the opinion of the well-known science authorities and researchers from the USA. The "Chicago Tribune" paid great attention to this problem throughout the whole 2012. (It can be said that the general conclusion was exactly the same as the above mentioned, and that is, that they are environmentally unacceptable and are harmful to humans and the environment).
US Environment Protection Agency (EPA) published in March 27th, 2013, a list of chemicals in the category of „fire retardants“ which will be subjected to the tests on suspicion of extremely negative impact on human health. One of the chemicals on the list is HBCD (Hexabromocyclododecane - a brominated flame retardant - based on bromine), whose main use in the impregnation of insulating panels is based on polystyrene. To the list has already been added Chlorinated Tris, which is among the most unacceptable ecological resources, used for insulation foam. Also, boric acid and ammonium sulfate, belong to the group of flame retardants that are not fully environmentally friendly.
This action is the result of the action of the Stockholm Convention on organic pollutants, which is part of the United Nations for the environment protection, which as early as October 25th, 2012 issued a recommendation that HBCD is to be placed on a list of hazardous pollutants whose use should be reduced and eliminated.
Quantity of 1.000 lit of „No¹ Flame“ is enough for treating 6.5 m³ of timber or if we take an example of one wooden beam measured 10 x 10 cm, 5 m long, we can say that with the quantity of 1,000 lit of „No Flame“ agent we could treat about 130 beams. The same calculation can be make for any shape and quantity of timber. In the course of the treatment of timber, „No¹ Flame“ does not evaporate at all, so there is no harm for people and the environment. Also, „No¹ Flame“ is not inflammable or chemically aggressive, so in order to use it one would only need to have ordinary hygienic-technical protection means (uniform, rubber gloves etc.)
„No¹ Flame“ is not harmful and is non-toxicological either in dry or dissolved condition both to people`s health and the environment, as well. Thanks to one of the components contained in the finished “No¹ Flame” product, the corrosivity decreases to a significant extent.
The basic component of „No¹ Flame“ (97 %) is a substance which is stable and does not dissolve up to 1,600 ºC (2,912 ºF). The other two components are of such chemical structure that they dissolve at 390 ºC (734 ºF) of temperature into water steam and carbon dioxide. Hence, when fire starts there is no possibility of releasing toxic gases while burning.
